First salad ready for picking in the mini poly tunnel. (Last Sunday, I'm too slack about posting, OK?)

Looks like this vanilla vine might be flowering soon. This is exciting because it's almost in reach and I will try to hand pollinate. Every other time I've seen vanilla flower, the flowers have been 30 feet up in a tree
Time to watch some videos on hand pollinating vanilla.
Oops, I haven’t posted in the tomato thread for a couple of months! While other local gardeners have complained of a poor season for tomatoes, I’ve been picking plenty. The Sub Arctic Plenty plants died off recently, so I picked the remaining green tomatoes to ripen inside. The Sweet 100 are still going.
I’ve been putting surplus into the freezer, and today I converted them into passata . Will be great for soups, pasta sauces etc.
There is a wooden teepee at the play centre but it is often too hot to play in.
Today I planted a hakea laurina, a rhodencarpus and three westringias around it. They are in green tents to make it obvious to tiny children that they can't walk there.
In a couple of years we hope it will be more shady here.

My hydroponics don't yet yield much in the way of food (I'm still learning) but they give me a lot of joy.
I can buy food but I can't buy joy, so I call this a success.

AI slop is often hard to spot, but sometimes it’s so terrible it actually makes you laugh out loud https://www.allforgardening.com/1252324/ai-slop-is-often-hard-to-spot-but-sometimes-its-so-terrible-it-actually-makes-you-laugh-out-loud/ #fun #gardening #GardeningFun
Now for another #gardening question: does anyone know what kind of #mushroom this is..?
The spinach I planted last fall in the garden is nearing the end of its cycle, so I harvested most. Tomorrow I'll blanch and freeze the harvest. The corn salad was starting to shoot, so I deced to take most home. The rest of both will stay to grow blossoms and hopefully go to seed. Chive was taking over the garden paths, and while I left most for the insects, I took some home, as well.
Haven't done a #gardening report in a while. We're in waiting mode for the soil to dry, sometimes with great patience, and apparently, that's a necessity for the next week. Plants outside whenever it's not raining, back under the lights the rest of the time. #gyo #GrowFoodFromSeed
Here is the globe artichoke. Promising #gardening

I put my 3d printed hydroponics tower into operation with some pre-grown salad. I hope that the nights won’t be too cold anymore. In six weeks or so there will be the first harvest, hopefully! #hydroponics #gardening #3dprinting
My wee fig tree is potted, and my broad bean seedlings are giving the outdoors a try for the first time. It's still too cold at night to transplant them, but I hope it warms up enough soon; they're getting leggy! #gardening
Tiny DIY greenhouses! Perfect for starting pumpkins and planting leftover herbs.
I will not accept the concept of "single-use plastic" without a creative fight.
High hopes! #gardening
