This made me think. We are mutual Followers, your posts appear in my timeline, but I did not see them. I follow some 800 accounts, so this is unavoidable. The timeline is always full, and even if one attends to it regularly (as I do), posts come and go before you know it.

Is that necessarily bad?

I do try to manage the flow through lists and such, actively looking out for posts in certain areas, but ultimately the flow is the flow.

I realise that we must cherish this randomness, not regret it.

I carefully select whom I follow, so I can trust my timeline. I dip into the timeline when I am free, all posts are from trusted friends (or their boosts). I enjoy the posts i see, I engage with them and let things happen.

Inevitably I will miss posts, possibly important posts. That is not a weakness of the process, it is a sign of the richness of the flow. An abundance of trusted messages.

We must enjoy and celebrate the randomness.

Nachdem ich nun eine PeerTube-Instanz gefunden habe, dachte ich mir, ich nehme doch mal schnell ein kurzes Video auf für die neuen User, die sich das erste Mal bei einer bestehenden Friendica-Instanz registrieren und dann vor einer leeren Timeline stehen...

Nach einem kurzen entspannten Kaffee für die Rübe, ein wenig durch die #timeline scrollen, nehme ich mir jetzt meinen kleinen mobilen Lautsprecher mit zum Camperbasteln. Hmmm ... was könnte ich blos mit 'der Stimmung' für Musik laufen lassen? Jemand hier gedanklich etwas parat, was aufbaut, motiviert und vielleicht sogar gut klingt? Playlisten willkommen, der Feierabend ist da ❤️
Äh bitte kein Metal... bin an elektrischen Teilen, da darf nix was mich stresst 🙈

Kurze Kaffeepause und erstmal verdauen, wie es sich anfühlt Löcher in den Camper zu bohren 🫣 Alle Metallspäne hab ich zwar aufgesaugt, aber mit irgendwas sollte ich die Löcher im Blech behandeln, damit da nix rosten kann ... aber jetzt erstmal einen schönen Kaffee ☕ und ein wenig hier durch die #Timeline von euch scrollen und ein paar Favs da lassen ❤️

Die Geschichte um das Eichhörnchen #Makita ist tägliche Sternstunde meiner #Timeline, durch die ich in Anbetracht von Politik und sonstiger Weltlage eher eilig durchscrolle in einem Kompromiss zwischen Leute mitkriegen und all das Schlimme meiden. (Es trotzdem zu streifen, lässt sich so leider nicht verhindern.)

troet.cafe - Mastodonc-pra (@c_pra@troet.cafe)es war einmal ein freitag im april, der aus heiterem himmel mit schneematschfladen warf, den spaß auf 10cm auffüllte und für zwei tage an der schmierseifenpracht festhielt. drei tage später habe ich beim gartenmann ein recht großes, aber hustendes, verschnoddertes, erschöpftes, schwer atmendes hörnchenkind aus dem garten gepflückt und in meinen pulli gesteckt. nach sehr kurzer gegenwehr war es auch schon eingeschlafen. #makita #eichhörnchen #squirrel
