The #IMF will probably need to be put on standby if #Trump stays in power for his term. The #USA runs huge trade and fisal deficits, and can only do this if markets trust the administration. This has now gone and a moron premium has been added to the cost of #US debt. Add to that the future $5n of unfunded tax cuts and the #US potentially faces a far worse second #truss moment. I am a tiny investor but I would not buy #US bonds at anything less than a coupon of 8%.
I am very surprised that the people of the #USA are shocked by the #Trump #tariffs. He said he would do that! He was perfectly clear on that point. I may not agree with them, but this was entirely self inflicted and the consequences to anyone with even a basic understanding of economics were also obvious. Those of us who lived through #Truss know the effect of dogma.

Watching from afar it is clear that the American people wanted to inflict Trumponomics on themselves. Even #Bezos #Musk and #Zuckerberg are cheer leaders. I watched my own country implode under #Truss with many seeing their pensions destroyed so that the Institute for Economic Affairs could test some of its policies which were made up on a drunken night out on the people. So should we rename the #US president? If so here are some suggestions.
