I finally have a Steam page and trailer for the video game I’ve been solo developing for almost 3 years! It’s a cozy small town life sim set in a cave on a moon in a nearby star system.

The game’s heavily shaped by #solarpunk and hopeful #scifi. It’s full of hydroponic farming, sustainable biomass crafting, a circular eco-economy, and a lot of story around local environmental stewardship.

@ramsey @stux @GameFromScratch I'm a #Godot guy who misses the BlenderGameEngine, but any thing that is attractive to your dev style is fine. Tuts abound for unreal unity & Godot. All support external languages & their own scripting.

Unity & Unreal have vast libraries of assets and scripts that drop in pretty quick. But games are software and the difficulty curve scales rapidly the closer your get to the end.

Advice: jump in feet first in a couple & develop simplest game possible, then choose

Einen kleinen Fehler im Streambot behoben und dann noch ein bisschen Zeit für road to game dev aufgebracht. Jetzt bin ich etwas schlauer über die AStar und AStarGrid Nutzung in Godot.

Nächstes Mal dann noch die Navigation über TileMaps und den NavigationServer ausprobieren. Noch bin ich mir nämlich nicht ganz sicher wie das mit tilebasierter Bewegung zusammenspielt. Der AStarGrid klappte jedenfalls schon ganz gut damit.
