Reflections on a Rainy Day / Riflessioni su un Giorno di Pioggia

While waiting to go to the dentist I saw this bus stopped with nobody in it and I liked the way the rain was beaded on the windscreen. Stroke of luck was this person in a cool red jacket and umbrella. Second stroke of luck, my dentist let me leave with all my teeth. Pretty good day if you ask me! ✨

The under blouse is sleeveless with a high collar and lace ruffle made from #offcuts from previous projects.
The Ivory #peauDeSoie skirt is made from disassembling a former wedding dress.
The hat is made with a #buckrum base, wired edge and covered with remnant pieces from all three garments, embellishments in fabric roses. #millinery #madHatter

It's finally warm enough to wear my denim jacket!! 💮 ☀️ 😎 🌷

I spent November embroidering it.. first the front (meh), then went nuts on the back.

Kinda want to work on the front again, it looks bare..

I'm half Polish, and trying to copy the guralka mountain folk art style (badly).

I don't pretend to know what I'm doing here, just learning / having fun.

In our Sunday animations in the #culturalHeritage centre, I finished my #visibleMending project: a #secondHand jacket with a completely scuffed collar. For a better look I fixed 2 more patches. All people were very curious. Then the reactions:
⭕️ I would never dare to wear s'th with patches.
⭕️ I never had the time (but they have time for TV, social media etc.) @visiblemending @sewing

Small-chequered jacket in country style. The collar is fully covered with a typical southern French print with chicken and flowers. Two more patches at the bottom.
The collar in detail. Because the collar ends were different lengths, it was difficult to find symmetry. I started symmetrically at the centre back and then used different motifs on the left (flowers) and right (chicken) to conceal it.
