Bei näherem Hinsehen kann man bemerken, dass die blauen Streifen die Wände eines Frachtschiffs sind, der türkisene Streifen Wasser mit kleinen Wellen, und die grauen und braunen die Fracht des Schiffs - aufgereihte Stapel langer Stahlträger - plus eine Leiter auf dem schmalen Schiffsdeck neben den mit 6 & 7 markierten Ladebucht-Abschnitten.

At closer look you may realize that the blue stripes are the walls of a freighter ship, the turquoise stripe is water with little waves, and the grey and brown ones the ship's cargo - piles of long steel beams - plus a ladder on the narrow ship deck next to the cargo bay sections marked 6 & 7.

das quadratische bild zeigt einen ausschnitt eines rostigen drahtzauns, der an einem verwitterten holzpfosten befestigt ist. eine kleine, grüne pflanze wächst am fuß des pfostens und wird von einem sonnenstrahl beleuchtet. der hintergrund ist dunkel und undurchdringlich, fast ganz schwarz.
die bildgestaltung ist minimalistisch. die kleine, beleuchtete stelle des zauns ist am linke bildrand zu sehen. der rest ist fast schwarz.

For years I have walked along ponds and canals in The Hague to take pictures of reflections. I call them Hague mirrors. I love it when there is wind and the reflection no longer resembles reality. Then it is always different. Dois terços da imagem, da direita para a esquerda, é composta de um céu azul escuro sem nuvens. No terço restante, no lado esquerdo, há uma parede branca subindo em diagonal ao quadro. The gaps between the joint edges of the wooden top and the frame form a 90° angle. The joint edge of the frame itself forms an angle of 45°. The candle is positioned so that the wick is exactly at the point where all the joints meet.

For #SilentSunday I am going for some solemn #ClassicalMusic today.

I am unsure whether to call 'Fauna' either an EP or an album with only 6 tracks, which is right on the boundary between those two media. But it is the debut of the #3VIOLAS group on #bandcamp at least.

This #instrumental group's name describes exactly what it says on the tin, a trio of excellent viola players playing wonderful #classical #cinematic music, embracing #minimalism as their overall sound.
