Working on some new figurines, maybe. Soon. Hopefully.

I'm thinking one of the tall ones will be a blue-faced Sarasvati. One may be Brighid, once I figure out how to get a tartan color scheme on there, lol. For the third I'm thinking maybe Oshun.

I have an official tartan, via my maiden name, from my father's side of the family. I will probably try those colors, even though they don't thrill me.

I have cast 5 new plaster figurines, three of the 9" tall Divine Feminine molds, two on a wide base and one on a shippable smaller, heavier base. These will be beta tests for their respective motifs, and will live in my glass door altar cabinet. Also there are two of the 4" stele molds with some beaded jewelry embedded. These will eventually be for sale, once I have figured out the best colors and embellishments to go with their jewelry. The plaster needs to cure a few days, then I will repair / sand the plaster, and seal it with with a non-toxic decoupage glue. Then I'll paint them and add embellishments.

Wow, it's the 13th already....

If you've seen my heading, you may remember that I started a couple of wood mandala wall hangings a while back. (Cough.) There was a progress pic on the first one a while back. The second, well, it was blank until this week. And these are the last two. The Co that made these got bought out & they're gone.

Presenting, finished mystical mandalas, lol.

Two lotus shaped wood wall hanging mandalas. Thick 1/2" wood, I got these on closeout because they were damaged. If you look closely, you can see the seam where they split and were glued back together. The breaks were not clean. I got these for a steal. The lotus petals are done in the colorful four worlds motif, working from the inside out - red, yellow, blue, and green. In the large blank spaces on the petals I have decoupaged pieces cut out from old calendars in mystical themes. I would say no two are will be exactly alike, but since I can't find any more of them, these are the last two ever, apparently. There are other real wood wall hanging mandalas out there, but they tend to be intricately carved with no room for pomegranates and such. If you see any like these anywhere, I'd really appreciate a head's up!

Dec 11th

An old scone baking dish that used to hang on the wall - until the clay tab broke off. Can't remember where I got it, sometime back in the 90s, but it served nicely as a wall decoration until its unfortunate accident.

Now it's reborn as a jewelry dish! One of a kind. There will never be another one like it.

The scone baking dish has been painted with a black background, and a rainbow pattern similar to a cloisonné design of hearts and gold swirls. The ridges between scone pieces have been highlighted in silver, and the outer rim continues the hearts in rainbow order motif.

And finally, today's piece, Dec 9th, is also a hand painted wood cutout. I did two versions, one with a black background and one with a white. It's a whimisical garden design, with a flowering vine in the shape of a chanukkah menorah surrounded by butterflies. (Since, you know, it's spring in the southern hemisphere now!)
