Sur les dunes de Pirou en Normandie, j’ai aperçu quelques traquets motteux en transit ! Ces petites boules de plumes sont de grands migrateurs : ils passent l’hiver en Afrique centrale et l’été en Arctique

Please let me know if you have any questions about using #iNaturalist or how to find the project for your city or region!
It’s City Nature Challenge weekend!
All around the world, it’s a call for us to take photos of wild organisms of all kinds from April 25-28, 2025.
Then you upload them to iNaturalist, either via the app or the website and try to get them identified by May 4!
It’s a sort of global census of all wildlife, done by thousands of citizen scientists.
The best part is you can participate anywhere!

As a #naturalist and #conservationist, I am deeply concerned about this decision. It is irresponsible, and robs future generations of their natural resources. This is yet another overstep of authority by an administration which believes it can act without consequence.
The Mark Twain National Forest in Missouri —particularly in our future home county where we recently purchased land— is affected by this decision.

Just got word, city approved the Scout's Park Rehabilitation plans with my native pollinator garden design inputs. Such a great project! I've already set aside plants! Time to contact all my garden friends with the list of plants needed!
Edit* forgot to say, we're still waiting on the mayor's stamp

It's spring peeper time in Southern Ohio!
Yoder Lab grad student Pryce Millikin went scouting this weekend and confirmed we're in for a good Joshua tree flowering season!
If you're in the Mojave this spring, help us learn how weather affects the trees' specialized pollinators by joining our iNaturalist project

In which I find myself on the front page of the Sunday op-ed section in the newspaper my parents have subscribed to since I learned out to read it, hoping to rally hometown opposition to the Trump administration's destruction of federal research agencies

I finally finished my very first leather project. Long delay because I needed a thimble for the last bit of work around the grommet. It was a ton of work, and it has MANY flaws, but I’m still digging it!
A Good Birb.
