Forcibly returning a #refugee or #asylum-seeker to a home country where they may face #torture or #persecution will no longer be highlighted, nor will serious #harassment of #HumanRights organizations.

Acc/to an editing memo & other documents…, #State Dept employees are directed to "streamline" the reports by stripping them down to only that which is legally required. The memo says the changes aim to align the reports w/current #US #policy & "recently issued #ExecutiveOrders."

“They’ve got some very bad things going on in South Africa,” #Trump goes on a #ConspiracyTheory based tangent when he outlines the reciprocal tariff against that nation. Trump & #Musk have repeatedly amplified false claims about the persecution of #white Afrikaners in #SouthAfrica, & made an exception to his refugee ban to screen Afrikaners for #refugee status. Trump included in his tangent a typical criticism of the #media for how it covers South Africa.

Refugee status requires you to prove the following things:

1. A well founded fear of persecution. Considering that people are already being disappeared it might be sooner than later. Any documentation that you’ve been targeted for a disappearance or people in your community are being picked off will probably be enough, but keep documentation! A collection of threats sent to you will help make your case.
2. Membership of a particular social group. LGBTQI+ meets the threshold.
3. Persecution involves serious harm. Threat to your liberty, physical harm or forced detransition would meet the standard.
4. Real chance of persecution. This includes the likelihood of something happening in the immediate future.
5. You can’t have citizenship to another country where you could seek refuge.

Hey USA LGBTQI+ people,

In the event that you need to leave the country to seek asylum you might want to start planning now.

If you want to apply for refugee status in Australia you will need a few things.

1. A passport (and as much ID as you can bring)
2. A visa to get into the country - you can come as a tourist and apply for refugee status on arrival. A tourist visa costs AUD$20. The visa is automatic for USA and lasts 12 months.
3. A ticket to get to Australia.

This is a counter productive view.

Yes, build more homes. Build more housing, tax empty units higher than occupied units. And build more affordable, useful housing.

Remove thousands of hectares from sale.

And build more housibng.

Struggling with fascism and refugees and the invader comes first, jobs come fiirst.

Build more homes, get out of the way.

Great win at the #ECJ today!

#Hungary can’t demand proof of gender assignment to correct an Iranian #refugee’s #gender status, the #EuropeanUnion’s top court ruled today.

The ECJ ruled that an EU Member State "may under no circumstances make the exercise of the right to rectify incorrect #personaldata subject to the production of evidence of sex reassignment surgery," as it would undermine the "essence of the right to the integrity of the person and the right to respect for private life" [1/2]
