#ElSalvador's Vice President effectively acknowledges that the #Trump admin's claim that the United States doesn’t have the power to retrieve the people it sent there is a #lie.

“we don't see this as an issue of international law or international conflict insofar as what we're doing is providing a service. The status of the detainees or the people who come here isn't assessed by El Salvador; it's assessed by the state that requests the service.”

While #Trump insisted he did not know about the image of himself as #pope, it was posted by the White House on X & by HIS OWN Truth Social account, which has shared several apparently AI-generated images.

Asked by reporters last week who he would like to be pope, Trump first made the joke that he was his own “No. 1” choice. He then referred to Cardinal Dolan as “a very good” option. (Dolan is not a likely candidate.)

“I had nothing to do with it,” #Trump said while taking questions in the Oval. “Somebody made up a picture of me dressed like the #pope, & they put it out on the internet. That’s not me that did it, I have no idea where it came from—maybe it was AI. But I have no idea where it came from.”

Trump, responding to a question about #Catholics who are displeased w/the image of him dressed in white papal robes & a ceremonial headdress, also attempted to downplay the mounting criticism.

Umm. There’s proof he did just that. ↑

#Trump said he had “nothing to do with” an image depicting him as the #pope that was posted by his & the White House social media accounts, drawing criticism from #Catholics around the globe. Trump, who previously told reporters that he was his own “No. 1” choice to be the next pope, insisted on Monday, “The Catholics loved it.”

“I don't say I'm going to do it, but I don't rule out anything. No, not there,” he said. “We need Greenland very badly. Greenland is a very small amount of people, which we'll *take care of*, & we'll cherish them, & *all of that*. But we need that for international security.”

“When you say strollers are going up, what kind of a thing? I’m saying that gasoline is going down. Gasoline is thousands of times more important than a stroller,” #Trump said in the NBC interview.

[2 days ago he said #gas was $1.88/gal. He is way off. As of this minute the avg #price of #gasoline in the United States is $3.17. If you live in California it’s $4.78, Illinois $3.38, New York $3.10, the lowest price is Mississippi at $2.66]

He reiterated his criticism of #FederalReserve Chair #JeromePowell for not lowering interest rates & suggested that it was due to personal animus — “He just doesn’t like me because I think he’s a total stiff,” he said — but also said that he would not remove him before his term is up in 2026.

#Trump downplayed concerns about the potential for a #recession, saying, “Everything’s okay. What we are. I said, this is a transition period. I think we’re going to do fantastically.”

The comment came as #Trump remained adamant that he wanted to ship undocumented #immigrants out of the country & said it was inconceivable to hear millions of cases in #court, insisting he needed the #power to quickly remove people he claimed were murderers & drug dealers.

A fragile #ceasefire collapsed in early March, & Trump did little to salvage it as the White House shifted the focus of its regional diplomacy toward #Iran. #Israel’s airstrikes & bombardments resumed, killing myriad #civilians. No lucrative real estate deals for Gazan waterfront properties seem in sight.
