Since then, I've collected many slide rules from round the globe. Thilo, EE 🤘🏼🇪🇺⚛🎗️A little bit of history: <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/Aristo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Aristo</a> (Dennert&Pape) in Hamburg was one of the leading manufacturers of slide rules. With the upcoming turn to electronic calculators they tried to keep up with these. The M75 was produced 1975-1985 and was intended as a successor to slide rules. As far as I can tell that did work, just not for Aristo.Going by markings on the box one of these was purchased in 1976.

I wanted one of these <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/Aristo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Aristo</a> M75 <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/calculator" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#calculator</a> for ages. And what's the best part? I got two! One got a smoky perspex cover, the other has a leather pouch. They come with the power supply. One looks wonky because I opened it to <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/GetTheDamnBatteriesOut" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#GetTheDamnBatteriesOut</a>. Didn't have any, though.

Just needs a clean and a place on my desk. Comes with the hard case and a set of stands. (This one is pretty hard to come by. I'm lucky to have snagged a total of two by now. Still looking for a HyperLog.)They just make them like this anymore. Or at all.
