Pierre-Yves ComtoisJe poursuis mon projet d’échange de cartes postales inspiré de l’etegami. L’une de ces cartes s’est envolée vers Hong Kong, de l’autre côté du globe. La première illustre le mâle de la <a href="https://explorer.audubon.org/explore/species/1089/blackburnian-warbler/migration?sidebar=collapse&zoom=3&x=850068.9854999995&y=578932.7074500006&range=0.8040%2C0.8240" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">paruline à gorge orangée (Setophaga fusca)</a>. Cette paruline brille même à travers la pluie ou le brouillard. Elle apprécie particulièrement les conifères de la forêt boréale et se nourrit à la cime des arbres. En octobre, la paruline à gorge orangée arrive dans la cordillère des Andes (Colombie, Équateur, Pérou) pour y hiverner. La seconde illustre la femelle du <a href="https://explorer.audubon.org/explore/species/1052/eastern-bluebird/migration?sidebar=collapse&layersPanel=expand&zoom=4&x=56546.2784500001&y=1918776.27855&range=0.8065%2C0.8265" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">merle bleu de l’Est (Sialis sialis)</a>. Perchés bien en vue, le mâle et la femelle du merle bleu de l’Est font entendre leurs chants allègres et flûtés dès les premières lueurs de l’aube. On peut parfois les entendre jusqu’en octobre. L’espèce se déplace ensuite vers le sud, des États-Unis au Nicaragua. Le mot etegami est composé des mots japonais 絵 (e — dessin/image) et 手紙 (tegami — lettre). L’etegami désigne un sujet de saison, peint à la main sur une carte postale et accompagnée de quelques mots, que l’on envoie par la poste. Cette pratique a été popularisée dans les années 70 par l’artiste <a href="https://valerie-eguchi.fr/joyeux-anniversaire-monsieur-koike-kunio/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Koike Kunio</a>. Sa devise : « Heta de, heta ga ii » que l’on peut traduire par « Si c’est maladroit, c’est bien. Soyons maladroits. » Les deux phrases de ces cartes sont tirées de <a href="https://www.leslibraires.ca/livres/walden-henry-david-thoreau-9782360542734.html?a=908" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Walden d’Henry David Thoreau</a> (dans une traduction de Brice Matthieussent).
