Natalie<p>Since I (also) switched to hcommons.social a few days ago, here is my third <a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/introduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>introduction</span></a>!</p><p>I am a PhD student in Islamic and Arabic Studies in Münster, Germany, working on practices of evidence and strategies of verification of prophetic descent in seventeenth- and eighteenth-century North Africa. In particular, I am examining texts on a particular descent community claiming prophetic descent: the descendants of ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Jilānī, from a translocal perspective.</p><p>Also: I am excited to see something growing here that I didn't think was possible a few months ago.
