My sister and brother-in-law are visiting this week and we took the opportunity to hike a part of the Bernese Oberland we have never been to. From Gimmelwald in the Lauterbrunnen Valley we hiked to Tanzbedeli (local dialect for the more general Swiss German Tanzbödeli, which translates to "small dance floor"). It is a small flat summit near Spitzhoren and one can imagine people indeed have been dancing here in the past.

We were blown away, literally, so we descended after only a short stay. We slowly came back in the valley where the trees were very colorful. A coffee with apple pie was the perfect ending of this longer hike.

Back from my hike towards Rottalhütte.
Did in the end turn around with 150m elevation to go, since I was mindful of the 1850m decend I still had to do and that had a few tricky parts including a uncomfortably loose steel cable in one ride I had to climb up and down.
But I was definitely worth getting up there. The view onto the glaciers was awesome and I found some Edelweiß!
